Water Baptism is the full submersion of one’s complete body into water. It symbolizes the death (Romans 6:3-11) burial (Colossians 2:12) and resurrection (Romans 6:4-5) of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we are submerged, we are buried with Him. We bury the old man and when we rise, we rise to walk in the newness of life.
As believers of the word of God, we must identify ourselves with Jesus Christ. One becomes identified with Jesus Christ by becoming a born-again, spirit-filled believer. This is done by receiving the new birth through the “water” baptism and receiving of the “spirit” which is the Holy Ghost.

“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ” Galatians 3:27
“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”. Acts 2:4 “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God Hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”. Romans 10:9
Why do we baptize in the name of Jesus Christ and not the way Jesus states in Matt. 28:19?
The first law of rightly dividing the word is, “never build a doctrine on one scripture alone.
The book of Matthew was written about 34 years after the Day of Pentecost (A.D. 67)
Matthew stood with Peter (Acts 2:14) and did not dispute the baptism in Jesus Name
